Division IV Champions!
Founded in July 1999, the Drexel University Women’s Rugby Club is a part of the East Penn Rugby Union (EPRU). The women’s college bracket is comprised of 30 teams, each appropriately assigned as a Division I, II, III, or IV team. Currently, we are a Division II team, which gives us the ability to compete for the right to advance to the MARFU Women’s Collegiate Division II Championship.
As a team, we practice three days a week—Monday, Thursday, and Friday, with games on Saturdays. Additionally, we participate in both a fall and spring season; our fall season is comprised of league games, where during the spring we tend to participate more in tournaments.
Many of the girls that play on the team have no prior experience; however, a majority of the team actively participated in other sports before joining Drexel Women’s Rugby. We openly welcome any female who would like to play with our team—regardless of your knowledge about the sport. Playing rugby can provide you with great opportunities to travel, meet new friends, get involved in school life, and play something that you really love!
